Now that I think about it.. blowing up a huge meteorite mid descent is probably a really bad idea.

There's not much you can do anyway. You can blow it up into smaller pieces before it enters the atmosphere so that it burn up in the atmosphere. If it is this low already, it is too late. Wait it is not burning up in the atmosphere yet? Mother of God! How large is this thing!!! edit: WE'RE DOOMED!!!!!! DOOOOOOOOOMED!
