All bosses are defeated with QTEs... But, now really, the whole thing was a reference to the first boss of Metal Gear Rising (BEST TUTORIAL LEVEL EVER)

Well, I prefer beating the crap out of the douches all by myself, instead of watching an animation about how the playable moron defeats them. It feels more interactive, and being interactive is what the game's supposed to be in the first place.
