a thesis is a research work that has strictly scientific criteria that must be met. Research papers (articles in journals and collections of works, monographs), methodological manuals, textbooks are a necessary addition to the thesis, but they cannot replace it. Even in the case when the author is defending a dissertation on the basis of a set of scientific works, in addition to these, a "dissertation in the form of a scientific report" is submitted.
